'Wait is over' says Prime Minister Scott Morrison!


On Monday, Australia Fully reopened its international borders which were closed due to Coronavirus restrictions in the country. The borders were Reopened to travelers vaccinated against the coronavirus.

 

After two long years the country Reopens its border, it was witnessing an incessant rise in the Covid cases for which restrictions were tightened in the country.

 

The wait is over," Prime Minister Scott Morrison told a Sunday briefing at the Melbourne International Airport.

 

According to the statement given by the Tourism Minister said, "It is a party out here, music playing, smiles on people's faces, they will be dancing soon, I'm sure," Tourism Minister Dan Tehan told broadcaster ABC from Sydney airport as he welcomed travelers with a jar of Vegemite, an essential Australian staple, and stuffed Koala toys.

 

Further mentioned there would be a "very strong" rebound in the tourism market with Qantas Airways Ltd looking to fly more than 14,000 passengers into Australia this week.

 

According to the statement given by Australian Tourism Export Council managing Director Peter Shelley said, "This is an important day for our industry and the first, but most important step in getting Australian tourism back on its feet."

 

Whether travellers will flock back to the island continent, dubbed "fortress Australia" for its strict border controls, remains to be seen.

 

The government hopes to boost a pre-pandemic growth sector - real tourism gross domestic product expanded 3.4% in 2018-2019, compared with overall GDP growth of 1.9%.

 

According to the information, it stated that fully vaccinated tourists will not need to quarantine, but that not double-dosed will require a travel exemption to enter the country and will be subject to state and territory quarantine requirements.
