AIIMS Chief warns of ignoring Covid protocol


All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Chief, Randeep Guleria said, "For the next few months, until a larger part of our population gets vaccinated against Covid-19, we should avoid crowded, Non- essential travel and maintain Covid-19 appropriate behaviour. Talking about the pandemic, the AIIMS Chief said  "I think we can delay and also flatten the third wave." Covid-19 third wave fear is looming large and  people are seen flouting Covid-19 rules in the markets as well as public places. Meanwhile, National Capital's few markets have already been shut due to non compliance of Covid-19 appropriate behaviour. 

He said the virus will not mutate much in the coming months. He also referred to the fourth National serosurvey conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and said, a reasonably good amount of immunity against Covid-19 has been observed in the Indian Population.
