"Awaiting for Final approval from PMO to repeal the Farm Laws," says: A Govt. Source

PM Modi urges the farmers to return to their homes and fields.


 New Delhi: The preparation of repealing the Three Farm Bill by the Modi Govt. has been started and just waiting for final approval from the Prime Minister's Office, said a Govt. source on Monday. It will be one comprehensive gather than three separated laws. The Agriculture Ministry is also working on whether the Minimum Support Price (MSP) issue should be addressed as guidelines or in a legal form as the farmers have been demanding, the source added.

According to the source, the proposed Bill will make provisions to shut down all boards made regarding the three farm laws, and all decisions taken by them will be null and void. Any offices constituted will also cease operations. Some states had reportedly tried to operate during the brief period of six months when the laws were operational.

The Prime Minister also said that in the parliament sessions beginning from the end of this month, the Govt. surely complete the process of repealing the laws.

The Modi Govt. has also ensured to withdraw all the police cases filed against the farmers during their year-long protest.

PM Modi also urged the farmers to return to their homes and fields, ensuring the repealing of the farm laws. He said, "We haven't been able to explain to our farmers. This is not a time to blame anyone. I want to tell you that we have taken the farm laws back."

However, the farmers decided to continue their year-long protest till it isn't officially withdrawn on papers. Farm leaders had responded by pointing out that the farm laws were not the only issue and demanded that the government send a delegation to discuss all other pending issues with them. They reiterated the demand for a government guarantee on MSP.
