Baby Berth Facility Introduced In A Trial Basis For Women With Babies

The Facility was introduced on the Lucknow Mail train on May 9!


Intending to make train and travel journeys safer and convenient, the Indian railways have introduced the Northern Railways as a 'Baby berth facility for infants on a trial basis.

 

The Delhi Division of Northern Railway gave this gift to women on Mother's Day. It was introduced in Lucknow Mail on May 9.

 

As per the information, these 'baby berths' are foldable and come equipped with a stopper so that babies do not fall. It works as an extra small berth for infants and is attached to the lower berth of the trains.

 

According to the tweet by the railway manager said, "A baby berth has been introduced in Coach no 194129/ B4, berth no 12 & 60 in Lucknow Mail," tweeted Satish Kumar, divisional railway manager of the Lucknow Northern Railway, along with a video demonstrating how straps that come with the berth can be used.

 

On social media, the feedback so far has been positive. "This is AWESOME!!! It's a SUPERB initiative!!! Thank you for understanding this and putting it into action!!! Hope the Indian Railways keep innovating as per need basis of the passengers!!!" wrote one user in response to the announcement.

 

The Railways might announce the same if it decides to launch it on all trains. Indian railways are always on the foremost list when it comes to new advancement facilities.
