Ban On Entry Of Truck

WFH for govt employees till November 26


With an incessant rise in the pollution level in the Capital city. The Delhi Government has imposed a ban on entry of trucks carrying non Essential items in the National Capital and has shifted work from home for the government employees till November 26.

According to the directions of the Commission of Air Quality Management (CAQM), schools and colleges will remain closed in the capital city until further orders. Says a senior Central Government official and also a review meeting will take place tomorrow (November 23).

 

As per the statement," keeping in view the very poor air quality forecast and that vehicular pollution would cause extensive air pollution and release harmful air pollutants, particularly when the air quality is very poor, it is felt that there is need for further extension of the curbs on vehicular movement in Delhi." Adding more it said, stop the entry of trucks in Delhi except the trucks carrying Essential commodities by November 26, subject to further review for an extension of this date." Said the order by the environment department.

 

The order also said that "All offices of GNCT of Delhi/autonomous bodies/corporations shall remain close till November 26 except those involved in Essential and emergency services... However, all the officers/officials shall work from home."

 

The pollution level in the capital city and nearby cities are spreading. The air quality index is touching the ratio of the very poor category in the National capital.
