Bangladesh banned international flights after increasing new cases globally

Bangladesh has recently banned international flights. In the past, Saudi Arabia has banned international flights from 20 countries, including India, to curb the growing cases of coronavirus in the country.

The Indian government plans to resume the schedule of international flights this summer, but this does not seem to be happening as various countries have begun to ban international flights in the wake of increasing COVID cases. The latest of these is Bangladesh which has recently announced a ban on all its international flights to and from Bangladesh from 14 April to 20 April.

According to the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB), all international passenger flights to / from Bangladesh will remain suspended from 0001 BST on 14 April 2021 to 2359BST on 20 April 2021, following the government's guidelines.

Bangladesh has made it clear that only emergency and humanitarian flights are allowed in the country for the next seven days. CAAB reported that clean flights with medivac, humanitarian / relief, cargo, technical landing (refueling only) and special attention would remain outside the scope of this suspension. At the same time, all types of guidelines have been asked to be strictly followed in these flights.

Many Indian carriers have stopped booking flights to Dhaka and suspended their operations. A spokesperson for Vistara said, 'Vistara is operating three flights a week and operations have been suspended for Bangladesh / (Dhaka) from 14 April to 20 April and no booking has been made for the flights. Vistara's team is in touch with passengers for ticket refund or rescheduling. '
