Barcelona Sign Aubameyang From Arsenal, Dele Ali Joins Everton On Deadline Day

Barca signed Aubameyang from Arsenal on a free transfer

Barcelona has signed former Arsenal’s captain Emerick Aubameyang after the Gunners allowed him to leave the club on a free transfer on the deadline day.

Aubameyang was the highest-paid player while he was in Arsenal reportedly accepting a significant pay cut to facilitate the move.

Aubameyang, who was stripped of the Arsenal captaincy following a disciplinary breach in December, had 18 months left on his contract and the club are expected to save around £25m in wages by moving him on permanently rather than on loan. The 32-year-old striker has not played for Arsenal since December after Mikel Arteta stripped him from the captaincy and benched him.

He has only scored 4 Premier League goals in the opening season.

Meanwhile, Dele Ali has moved to Everton for a deal that may reach 40 million pounds, after failing out of form and favour at Tottenham. Tottenham on the other hand has signed Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus for a fee of around 15 million pounds.

Spurs had endured frustration earlier in the window, missing out on Wolves' Adama Traore and Porto's Luis Diaz as they opted to join Barcelona and Liverpool respectively, but the arrivals of Kulusevski and Bentancur provided a much-needed boost for Conte.

Seven months after suffering a cardiac arrest during a match between Denmark and Finland at Euro 2020, Christian Eriksen signed a six-month loan deal at the Brentford Community Stadium.

The Dane's arrival in west London represents a coup for the Bees, who are confident he will show his quality again having been fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator following his cardiac arrest and passed all necessary medical checks before the move.

While Brentford fans celebrated the arrival of a player described as "world-class" by manager Thomas Frank, Newcastle fans experienced mixed emotions on a fraught Deadline Day.
