Bharat Bandh, Strike Called On 28 And 29 March

Bank Services to remain disturbed!

On March 28 and 29 (Monday and Tuesday), a Bharat Bandh strike was called. This will mainly impact a few services including banks, insurance, and transport services.

A joint forum of central trade unions has called for a Bharat Bandh (a nationwide strike) on March 28 and 29 to show their resentment against the economic policies of the Central government.

The Platform of Central Trade Unions and Sectorial Federations and Associations had recently held a meeting in New Delhi to take stock of the preparations in various states and sectors for the proposed two-day all India strike against "the anti-worker, anti-farmer, anti-people and anti-national policies" of the central government, a statement said.

Trade organizations such as Indian National Trade Union Congress, All India United Trade Union Centre, Trade Union Coordination Centre, and All India Trade Union Congress, among other central trade unions, are a part of the joint forum.

According to the statement given by the country’s largest state-owned bank, the State Bank of India, said, "We advise that, while the bank has made necessary arrangements to ensure normal functioning in its branches and offices on strike days," adding that "work in our bank may be impacted to a limited extent by the strike."

According to the statement given to PTI, All India Trade Union Congress General Secretary Amarjeet Kaur said, "We are expecting participation of over 20 crore formal and informal workers with mass mobilization of workers across the country during the strike on March 28 and 29 to protest against government policies."
