Bhubaneswar International Airport will receive 4,020 oxygen cylinders within a week from different airlines


Bhubaneswar International Airport will receive 4,020 seamless oxygen cylinders from various airlines within a week, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) said on Thursday. The airport handled the transport of 156 oxygen tanks, 536 oxygen concentrators and 140 cylinders between April 23 and May 11, AAI said in a statement. The items were being transported by the Indian Air Force (IAF).

"Shipping of 3,500 10-liter seamless pieces and 1,520 pieces of 46.7 litre seamless cylinders is underway and the consignment is expected within a week of foreign imports," AAI said.AAI owns and operates more than 100 airports, including Bhubaneswar International Airport, nationwide. India has been hit hard by a second wave of the coronavirus epidemic and hospitals in several provinces are collapsing due to a lack of oxygen, health workers, antiretrovirals, and drugs.

With 3,62,727 new cases of coronavirus per day, the national average for COVID-19 rose to 2,37,03,665, and the death toll rose to 2,58 317 after 4 120 reported cases, according to data of the Department of Health was updated on Thursday. Operating cases increased to 37,10,525 comprising 15.65 percent of total infections.
