Bihar: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav converts his government residence into Covid care centre

Tejashwi Yadav said that the facility is free of cost and has all necessary medical equipment, beds, oxygen and provision for free food.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday converted his Patna government residence into a COVID-19 care centre by using his private funds. He said that the facility is free of cost and has all necessary medical equipment, beds, oxygen and provision for free food.

While talking to the media, Mr Yadav requested the Bihar government to convert all the government residences that have been provided to them into COVID-19 care centres and quarantine centres because people are unable to get beds, oxygen and other medical facilities at the government hospitals.

Mr Yadav said that he has written a letter to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to take charge of the Covid-19 care centre as according to the rule, the Covid care centres are supposed to be handed over to the state government. However, he has not received a reply yet. "I urge the state government to take over the COVID-19 centre and we are there to help in any way. Just let us know what we can do to help them," he further added.
