BMC issues quarantine SOPs for passengers coming from the risk zone

Brihanmumbai municipal corporation (BMC) issues a guideline for quarantine and Standard operating procedures (SOPs) to be followed for the passengers arriving from risk zones.


 

As per the information, the civic body has planned a seven-day strict quarantine for passengers arriving from risk zone countries where the threat for omicron variant is high. It will include 5calls a day from the BMC war room to monitor their health and involvement in their housing societies to ensure complete isolation. 


 

According to the protocol it involves RT -PCR Covid test after the quarantine procedure. 


 

According to the standard operating procedure (SOPs) it said, the passengers coming from such countries such as the United Kingdom, Brazil, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Israel among others have to go to seven-day quarantine, those from Africa, Botswana, classified by the Maharashtra Government as at high risk, countries will need to undergo RT -PCR testing on arrival apart from seven-day long Institutional quarantine.


 

The chief executive officer (CEO) of the Mumbai international airport limited (MIAL) will daily submit to the disaster management cell, a list of international passengers arriving in Mumbai in the preceding 24 hours from high risk and at-risk countries and those who have visited these countries in the last 15 days.


Cases of Omicron are creating fear and risk among the people. Karnataka witnessed two cases of Omicron. As per the information, one person has been escaped. The police and the other team are trying to search for the person.
