Canada to allow travelers vaccinated with Covaxin

Travelers will be permitted from November 30


From November 30, Canada permits the entry of travelers vaccinated with Bharat biotech's Covaxin. 

According to the statement, the Canada Government said," "...three additional Covid -19 vaccines approved for use by the world health organization (WHO) will be accepted for travel to and with Canada." 

 

The Canada Government has also issued new Covid-19 guidelines to be followed during traveling. It said, "starting November 30, 2021, Canadians or individuals who have right of entry, qualify as fully vaccinated travelers and who re-enter Canada within 72 hours of leaving, won't have to provide a pre-entry molecular test." Adding more it said this will also apply to their accompanying children under 12, regardless of whether or not the children are vaccinated," said the government.

 

As per the statement given by health Minister, Jean-Yves Duclos said," with more Canadians getting vaccinated every day, we can move forward cautiously towards a more open border economy and society " adding more it said, "at the same time we can't let our guard down."

 

Currently, the Canada Government permits the entry of travelers who are vaccinated with Pfizer, BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson and Johnson vaccines.

 

According to the statement, the company said, Covaxin has demonstrated 77.8 percent effectiveness against the deadly coronavirus and 65.2 percent protection against the new variant.

 

According to the report by the Canadian government, IANS said, the country reported a total of 17,62,434 cases with 29,481 deaths.
