Centre sanctions Rs 1,352 crore package for Covid-19 response in northeastern states. This decision was taken in a Guwahati meeting where Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya reviewed the Covid-19 situation in the state.


On Tuesday, the Union Home Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that the Centre has sanctioned a Covid-19 response package of rupees 23,000 Crore for the states across the Country to Fight the vicious disease. Out of 23,000 Crore rupees, 1,352.92 crores has been sanctioned for eight northeastern states.This decision was taken in a Guwahati meeting where Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya reviewed the Covid-19 situation in the state. He addressed the issues of Covid-19 vaccination as well as the implementation of the Covid-19 Emergency response and Health system preparedness package: phase || (ERCP - ||) 

According to the statement, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that "Covid-19 cases may increase in the country in coming days. The centre has declared Covid-19 package-||  of rupees 23,000 for all the states, rupees 1352.92 crores has been sanctioned for the Northeastern state. He also said that I have assured that all the states that the central government will continue to give all possible health. I also urged them to expedite the implementation of the ERCP-|| package. This package will help the state to create the necessary infrastructure for Covid-19 testing, medicine storage, beds, pediatric units, ventilators and oxygen storage, among other medical facilities." Minister said," I hope that the central and the state governments will together be able to manage the pandemic well."
