A surge in Covid Cases


Several states imposing Covid-19 led restrictions and guidelines, Chennai state joins the same queue. Chennai poses restrictions ahead of New Year and imposes curbs on resorts, farmhouses, clubs, and places conducting public gatherings.

 

As per the information, group celebration in apartment complexes and villas are restricted, only individual celebration is permitted in the city. Hotels and restaurants have been permitted to serve guests till 11 pm, no permission has been granted for hotel, club or to conduct DJs and musical gathering events in the city 

 

Notably, the restrictions have been imposed by the Chennai police, it requested the public not to gather on beaches, crowded places. They said roads that lead to the beaches will be closed from 9 pm onwards on the eve of the New Year.

 

According to the data given by the health department, on Tuesday Tamil Nadu reported 19 cases of the new omicron 24 have been discharged, taking the overall tally to 43.

 

Omicron cases are alarming in the state.  The respective state and the state government are taking their decision to curb the infection level in the state. Guidelines and restrictions with the standard operating procedure (SOPs) have been imposed by several states. Meanwhile, a Night curfew will be observed in a few states like Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and many others.
