Cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh causes flood,10 missing and 1 injured. The water level in the Bhaga River has risen considerably


On Tuesday, Cloudburst took place in Himachal Pradesh's Tribunal district of Lahaul - Spiti which resulted in flash floods and around 10 people are reportedly missing while one person has been injured.

According to PTI, the incident occurred in Udaipur in Lahaul at around 8 pm. State disaster management director Suresh Kumar Mukta said two tents of labourers and a private JCB have been washed away and around 10 people are missing. A 19-year-old labourer Mohammed Altaaf has been injured and referred to a nearby hospital. He also said due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, the water level in the Bhaga River has risen considerably.  People have been evacuated from nearby places.

According to the district management's official statement, "Search operation is underway comprising state police and ITBP teams but the heavy flow of water and Tuesday Nights hampered the search operation. The search operation will resume on Wednesday". 


In another incident around 60 tourists have reportedly been stranded after multiple landslides hit the state blocking road and around nine tourists were killed during the incident after a heavy boulder fell on their tempo traveller near Basteri in Kashmir.
