CM Bhupesh Baghel mandates Covid RT-PCR report for all the travellers coming to Chattisgarh

An increase in Covid-19 cases is increasing the restrictions to travel from one state to another.


Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel has instructed the officials to make mandatory Covid-19 RT-PCR  Test Negative report obtained within 72 hours for passengers coming from other states via rail or air route to Chattisgarh. While addressing in a video conference, CM said that the passengers arriving without a Negative report will be placed under quarantine in Covid care centre or hospital as per the standard operating procedures (SOP).

In a statement, the Chief Minister said that "The increasing number of covid-19 patients in Chhattisgarh is worrisome. If we meet this challenge in a planned way, then we will surely succeed. For this, passengers on all the borders of Chhattisgarh with Maharashtra should be strictly examined. Along with the airport, arrangements should be made to examine the passengers coming to Chattisgarh at the railway station as well". He further added that this time the infection is spreading in the village and needs to be prevented and he has also asked the operators of the private hospitals to provide the best possible Covid-19 treatment to the patients.

The discussion has also been done with the medical experts and representatives of the Indian Medical Association (IMA)about the essential medicines as well as an emergency supply of oxygen.
