Colleges to reopen in Tamil Nadu for final year students, under proper guidelines.

TN CM announces that final year UG students would be attending college from 6th of December


The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday announced that the reopening of Standard IX, X, XI and XII schools from November 16 has been postponed until further notice based on mixed responses from parents and a reminder of the second wave of COVID-19 threat.

The school opening date will be announced in due course depending on the situation. The official release here revealed that the government was still seeking views on the management of the college and universities regarding the opening of the colleges from November 16.

In accordance with the principles of college and university management and  the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission on November 5, colleges and universities may be opened from December 2 for research students and the final year of recent science and polytechnic students.

The opening dates for some courses in colleges will be announced later. Similarly, college hostels will be open from December 2 only for the above students with Standard Operating Procedures. For some students, online education will continue.

"During this festive season, people gather in large numbers on the streets and on buses and on the way out, people fail to follow guidelines such as wearing masks and keeping a distance. In addition, reports of a second wave of foreign COVID-19 infections. to strengthen measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19", the official report said.

In addition, permission has already been granted for religious, social, political, recreational, cultural and educational activities, as well as meetings related to these events and not more than 100 participants from November 16 are revoked. Until further notice, these circles will not be allowed
