Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tests Covid-19 positive

Rahul Gandhi had on Sunday cancelled all his election rallies in West Bengal citing a sudden surge in Covid cases and had urged others to do the same.


Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has tested positive for Covid-19. Mr Gandhi on Tuesday gave the information through his Twitter account and requested all those who have recently come in contact with him to follow all safety measures and necessary protocols.

"After experiencing mild symptoms, I've just tested positive for COVID. All those who've been in contact with me recently, please follow all safety protocols and stay safe," tweeted Mr Gandhi. Reportedly, Mr Gandhi is at home as advised by the doctors. According to the sources close to Mr Gandhi, he has neither met with his mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the last 12 days nor his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in five days, reported NDTV.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was admitted to AIIMS hospital in Delhi after testing positive for Covid-19. Mr Gandhi had on Sunday cancelled all his election rallies in West Bengal citing a sudden surge in Covid cases and had urged others to do the same.
