Covaxin will be given to the 15-18 year age group

Eligible population must bring a certificate


The Covid-19 vaccination for the 15-18 year age group begins from today (3rd January 2022). According to the statement given by Union health Ministry it mentions, the eligible population must bring a certificate of their birth year of 2007 and only Bharat Biotech's Covaxin will be administered to this population.



According to the information, the registration for the Covid vaccination has begun from January 1and this age population can also avail of walk-in vaccination services from their nearby centers.



Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday said to states and union territories to take necessary measures, including setting up separate vaccination centers to avoid mixing up vaccines during the administration of shots to those in the 15-18 age group.

 

He also held an online interaction with health Ministers and principal secretaries and additional chief for the health of states and union territories (UTs). Further, he said," To avoid mixing up of vaccine during Administration, separate Covid vaccine centers (CVCs), separate session sites, separate queue (if at same session where adult vaccination is going and separate vaccination team, if at same session site) are to be strived for." Said the Health Minister.



Also, after being inoculated with the dose of the Covid vaccine, the beneficiaries need to wait for half an hour and will be monitored for the adverse event following immunization (AEFI).



Dropping down points for booking procedure for Covid-19 vaccination:

1.     Visit Cowin.gov.in CoWin Portal.

2.     Sign in by filling in the Mobile number, OTP (one-time-password), Arogya SETU account/Umang account.

3.     Select your time and date accordingly.

4.     Choose the preferred vaccination center nearby to your location.

5.     Complete the process.
