COVID-19 Cases Has Risen To 46,232 In The Last 24 Hours

India sees another spike of COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours.


India on Saturday recorded 46,232 fresh cases of coronavirus taking the country’s corona tally to 90, 50,597. The death toll also rose to 1, 32,726 cases with 564 more deaths. The total number of active cases now stands at 4, 39,747. So far, as many as 84, 76,124 people have recovered from this disease.

A review meeting on Friday was held by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss India’s COVID-19 vaccination strategy. He said that the advancement of vaccine development, regulatory clearance and its acquisition were discussed in the virtual meeting.

The state governments of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh have already imposed night curfews in various districts. In Gujarat the curfew hours start from 9 pm to 6 am in  Rajkot, Surat and Vadodara. In Madhya Pradesh the curfew hours are 10 pm to 6 am in Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Vidisha and Ratlam districts.

The Government of Maharashtra is also considering to put a halt in train and flight services between Delhi and Mumbai because of a sharp rise in the number of coronavirus cases in the national capital.According to the report by a prominent news channel on Friday, Delhi added 205 intensive care unit beds, 116 oxygenated beds and 120 ventilators given to various hospitals in the city.

The Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday announces that the positivity rate of the corona virus has declined by 5% in the past five days. The CM also said that pollution was a leading factor in the capital’s third wave of the coronavirus pandemic.The John Hopkins data suggest the global number of cases stands more than 5.75 crore, while more than 13.7 lakh people have died due to the virus.
