Covid-19 vaccine to be booked via WhatsApp, health minister calls "new era of citizen convenience"

MyGov Corona helpdesk will allow users to book slot.


Rise in cases of Covid-19 took the country towards the advancement of technology as well as it taught people a lot of lessons of appropriate behaviour in public places. Covid-19 vaccine slots can now easily be booked via WhatsApp. MyGov Corona helpdesk on its platform will allow the users to locate their nearest vaccination center and book their appointments. 

According to the tweet, health minister Mansukh Mandaviya said "paving a new era of Citizen convenience. Now, book Covid-19 vaccine slots easily on your phone within minutes."

Talking about "The Gov Corona Helpdesk" on Whatsapp it was launched in March 2020 whereas MyGov CEO, Abhishek Singh said,''mygov Corona helpdesk has been a path-breaking technological solution that benefited millions of citizens across the nation."

Citizens can save the WhatsApp number +91 9013151515 on their phone and start a chat by typing "book slot" and sending it to the number. This will generate a 6 digit one-time password (OTP) on the respective number. Users can choose preferred dates and locations based on the pin code and select the vaccination types. After which, users will get a confirmation about their vaccination and appointments.
