Delhi witnesses slowdown in Covid-19 cases


On Monday the Delhi high Court informed the authorities about the guidelines and protocol to be followed with appropriate Covid-19 behaviour and crowd controlling in marketplaces and public places.


This order came while hearing a PIL initiated in its violation for Covid-19 behaviour in marketplaces. Ahead of the festive season, the public rush gathers at marketplaces and shopping hubs. With the increase in Covid-19 cases, the chances of getting contaminated with the deadly virus get high. 


As per the statement given by Chief Justice, DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh, we expect from the respondents (centre, Delhi Government and Delhi police) that these guidelines, Standard operating procedure (SOPs), Covid-19 appropriate behaviour, and controlling of the crowd at market places will be executed by them scrupulously in the festive season." Adding more they said, all steps mentioned by authorities in their respective status reports must be taken and a further status report is filed by them for the next date of hearing on November 30.


Meanwhile, some shopping hubs such as Sarojini Nagar market, Lajpat Nagar central market, Chandni Chowk, Laxmi Nagar market witness a bulk crowd in their area. Also, Covid cases are declining in the capital city. Whereas Delhi reported 27 new Covid cases on Monday with zero deaths. According to the data by the Health Department, The positivity rate stood at 0.06 per cent in the capital city
