Covishield to be used only for second doses till July 31 in Delhi. Whereas Delhi has less than a day's stock left for the Covid-19 vaccine.


Reportedly Delhi has less than a day's stock left for the Covid-19 vaccine. On Thursday morning, the Government issued an order stating Covishield will only be used for administering second doses till July 31. According to the data available on the CoWin portal a total of 48,256 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday which took the total number of Doses to 95,66,720 in the National Capital whereas 23,14,539 are the second doses. As per the information the city had been left with 65,460 doses of Covishied vaccine doses.

According to the bulletin "Only 20 percent of Covaxin stocks can be used for the first dose since these stocks are limited and have irregular delivery cycles. On account of limited stocks of Covishield, the city government has directed that the stocks be only used for second doses till July 31, at all it's Centre." It also said many in the 18-44 age group will be qualifying for the second dose in the Coming week. The bulletin also said that more than 18,63,967 lakh people above 60 years have been vaccinated.
