CSK Pays Tribute To Suresh Raina As He Goes Unsold In The IPL Auction

Suresh Raina “Mr. IPL” has plundered a staggering 5528 runs in the IPL

Suresh Raina who is also known as the Mr. IPL did not find any takers in the 2022 IPL mega auction. The 35-year-old has been a part of the IPL since its inception in 2008, but the 15th IPL will not feature Suresh Raina in it.

Raina was associated with Chennai Super Kings for 8 years and even then he was not taken by CSK. However, CSK reminded Raina that they are always grateful to him.

“SUPER THANKS FOR ALL THE YELLOVE MEMORIES, CHINNA THALA,” CSK tweeted.

Raina joined Chennai in 2006, the inaugural season of the IPL. The dream tour has been going on since then. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is fighting shoulder to shoulder in a yellow jersey. He owns a total of 4,006 runs for Chennai.

He also holds the record for highest run in IPL. He also led the team in six matches. So that Chennai won two matches.

Raina was again selected as the captain of Gujarat in the 2016 and ’17 seasons. He returned to CSK the following year. However, he withdrew from the tournament at the last minute in 2020.

He said that he decided not to play because of the fact that more than one star of the team was infected with Coronavirus.

Although it was later revealed that there were family reasons behind it. Raina was named 22nd in the IPL held in Dubai last year. But it could not ignite that way. He scored 160 runs in 12 matches.

And maybe that’s why the former Indian star didn’t get a place in any team this time. As if the franchises had given the message that Raina’s tour in the IPL might have ended here.
