"Deepotsav" begins in Ayodhya

9 lakh Diyas to be lighted this Diwali


On Monday, the city of Lord Ram, Ayodhya begins with its Diwali celebrations. Ayodhya is well known for its history regarding the celebration of festival of lights.  

On Wednesday, around Nine Lakh earthen Diyas will be lit on the eve of Diwali. "Ram ki paidi" is decorated completely with lights and lamps. It is the main venue to celebrate ‘Deepotsav’ celebrations.

According to the statement, Ved Prakash, BJP MLA from Ayodhya said, "Deepotsav celebrations began in Ayodhya on Monday. The entire city has been spruced up. The main event is scheduled for Wednesday, which will be presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. "

As per the information, the Ayodhya administration will go for the Guinness book of the world record of lighting Diyas (earthen pot) at ram ki paidi on Wednesday. Also, the Ayodhya administration and the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department have mobilized 12,000 volunteers for the task of lighting diyas. 

During the inaugural day of the festival, ‘Watkar’ singers of Nagpur, Bhagyashri and Dhanashri presented a musical rendition of various parts of Ramayana. Anoop jalota, a famous bhajan singer performed his famous devotional songs.

Diwali will fall on 4th November 2021. 32 Ghats of Ayodhya will be illuminated with earthen pots and for the first time, the state Government is organising an aerial drone show on this Deepotsav.
