Delhi CM urges PM Modi to ban flights from affected countries

" Omicron" New Variant concern and panic among travelers


Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to impose a ban on flights arriving from affected states with a New Variant of Coronavirus "Omicron"

According to the tweet, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, "I urge Hon'ble PM to stop flights from those countries which are affected by the new Variant. With great difficulty, our country has recovered from the corona. We shud do everything possible to prevent this new Variant from entering India." The CM urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

 

Many other countries across the world are imposing bans and travel restrictions. Around 27nation bloc European unions have suspended the South African countries flights where the new Variant has emerged. According to the Biden administration's official statement, it said the United States will restrict travel from South Africa and neighbouring countries effective Monday. . Several other countries such as Japan, Israel, Turkey, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates also tightened the traveling curbs and imposed restrictions. On Friday, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands also announced a travel ban. 

 

According to experts they say, the New Variant omicron spreads faster than all the other strains of Coronavirus and has more mutations than any of them it's 32 mutations are twice the number seen in the delta. Said the expert.
