Delhi NH-44 Boarders Closed For Commuters Due To Farmers Protest

The Delhi traffic police allegedly that Some of the borders of National Capital remained closed due to farmers protest, alternate routes available


As the ongoing farmers protest at Burari, Singhu and Tikri boarders, enters Day 12,the Delhi traffic police issued an advisory for people regarding traffic. The borders allegedly remained closed on Monday between Delhi and neighboring states due to farmers strike. Today, the Delhi traffic police issued a road alert by closing the national highway-44 (NH-44) from both the sides of national boundaries due to farmers protest.

Travelers have been asked to take alternate routes through Lampur, Safiabad, Saboli borders rather than Outer Ring Road, GTK road and NH-44, now except these routes for travel. People have been advised to avoid the route of Noida for travelling to the national capital.

The Delhi Traffic Police tweeted "Singhu, Auchandi, Piao Maniyari, Mangesh borders are closed. NH-44 is closed on both sides. Take alternate routes via Lampur, Safiabad, Saboli borders. Traffic has been diverted from Mukarba and GTK road. Avoid Outer Ring Road, GTK road, NH-44". Moreover, the Chilla border route from Noida to National Capital which is closed for traffic due to farmers' protest .The Gazipur border, on NH-24 is closed for traffic route from Ghaziabad to Delhi. The Tikri and Jharoda west Delhi borders of National Capital are closed for any traffic movement.

On the other hand, Badusarai border is open only for cars and two-wheelers and the Jhatikara border is open only for two-wheeler traffic.The Haryana border that are Dhansa, Daurala, Kapashera, Rajokri NH 8, Bijwasan/Bajghera, Palam Vihar and Dundahera that have been allowed to remain open.

From the last 11 days, thousands of farmers have gathered in and around Delhi to protest against the three farm laws, passed in the Monsoon Session of Parliament in September.  Including Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance as well as Farm Services Act, 2020, and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
