Delhi Records 1,447 Fresh COVID-19 Cases

One death related to the virus!


The cases of the Covid-19 are spreading rapidly in the capital city. Delhi records 1,447 cases of the vicious coronavirus in the city which also leads to one death in the city.


These fresh cases came out of 24,203 tests conducted the previous day, said the health department.


The infection tally has risen to 19,28,841 while the death toll stands at 26,243.


Delhi had recorded 1,934 Covid cases and zero death on Thursday, while the positivity rate had stood 8.10 per cent.


The bulletin said 18594 RT-PCR/CBNAAT/True Nat tests and 5609 rapid antigen tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.


On Thursday, Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviy chaired a meeting amid the latest surge in the coronavirus cases seen in some parts of the country. The minister appealed to states and Union territories to increase the pace of vaccination, including booster doses, in districts reporting high cases.


Meanwhile few other states including Maharashtra which was among the hotbeds during Covid-19 has been witnessing a surge in its daily Covid-19 count whereas masks have been mandated in the local trainss ahead of the increment in the daily cases.


The number of active COVID-19 cases on Friday decreased to 5,507 from 5,755 the previous day, according to the data.


As many as 3,790 patients are under home isolation, up from 3,564 on Thursday, while there are 322 Covid containment zones in the capital, up from 309 the previous day.
