Delhi’s Health Minister on inoculation of all over 18

Delhi authorities do not have the Covid-19 vaccines currently available, Health Minister Satyendra Jain said on Thursday in response to a question about vaccinating everyone over the age of 18. "We don't have any vaccines yet. We have urged the company for more vaccines, we will let you know when it comes,".

Commenting on cases involving the national capital, the minister said the recovery rate had been below the 10-day average over the past three days. "In the last 1.5 months, the daily (average) amount has never been less than the 10-day average. But it has been less than three days now. The statements come after the Union health department confirmed that more than one dose of covid-19 vaccine is still available through districts and UTs. "They will receive more than 20 lakh doses in the next three days," the department said.

The Indian government has so far provided about 16.16 crore Covid-19 vaccines in the provinces and UTs for free, it said. In this case, total consumption including waste is approximately 15,10,77,933. The free and fast phase 3 Covid-19 vaccine strategy will be implemented from 1 May.

Registration for the new qualifying groups began on Wednesday with a 1.32 crore to successfully complete the process, the government said. However, many people took to social media to complain about the technical problems they faced while trying to register after the site opened at 4pm. The health department later said CoWIN server crash reports were "inaccurate and baseless".

Even if registered, new signees are unlikely to receive treatment when they qualify for jabs on May 1 as appointments for those between the ages of 18 and 44 will be available when public and private immunization centers schedule times.
