Delhi Schools and Colleges to Reopen on Monday

Toxic air continues to wrap neighboring cities

New Delhi: Delhi schools and colleges were closed 10 days ago due to the air quality crisis and are going to reopen on Monday. While the air quality in the national capital has slightly improved, it's still in the "very poor" category.

Toxic air continues to wrap neighbouring cities too.

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that All government offices will also open from Monday, He further urged employees to use public transport. Special buses will be deployed for them.

On Monday, the Arvind Kejriwal government had also lifted the ban on construction activities.

Earlier today, the Supreme Court told the government: "This is the national capital. Look at the signal we are sending to the world. You have to predict the situation based on statistics... and take action in anticipation so that the situation does not go severe."

The Court said, "Even if the pollution level goes down now, we will continue to hear this case and issue directions."
