Delhi Schools Won't Resume Soon : Deputy CM Manish Sisodia assures

Schools to Remain Closed in Delhi due to Alarming Increase in Corona Infections


The alarming spike in daily Covid cases in Delhi had created a havoc in the city. Amidst these unsafe and hazardous air surrounding us, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia affirmed, "No chance of schools resuming soon in Delhi. Parents should give up the stress and anxiety to risk their children's life." Being caught in an uncertain environment people around the globe are worried and cautious for themselves and their loved ones. Delhi, currently being the epicenter of Corona cases in India is on a radar of both central and state governments to improvise on the worsening situation.

Mr Sisodia, who is also accountable for the Education portfolio ensured parents won't be forced to send their wards until it's safe and secure. Feedbacks and concerns arising from their sides would be addressed by his team and online education would be continued until further notice without any cease. As per the newly forwarded guidelines by the centre, schools are permitted to open for classes 9 to 12, following safety restrictions and limiting timings, but the final decision is in the hands of state governments.

The Deputy CM in his addressal called the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan to stretch a helping hand. He asked him to stop giving statements and take necessary actions over ICU beds supply in hospitals to facilitate proper medical treatments. According to Kejriwal the centre promised to offer ICU beds 10 days ago but till now only 200 have been installed. The capital is falling short of beds and medical kits to operate and cure patients. The curve is doubling day by day without any scope of improvement.

The city has witnessed an ongoing surge in cases since the start of this month due to to the festive excitement as well as high pollution. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal highlighted this issue in the virtual meet with PM Narendra Modi and other state leaders to focus his attention on deteriorating conditions and undertake the best in his authority. Falling temperature, rising pollution and spreading virus are not going well altogether, creating intolerable circumstances.
