The National Green Tribunal Ordered a Joint Committee...


The land at chenab valley of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir damaged and have found crackes in 21 structures by a media report.

 

Following the issue the national green tribunal has ordered for the constitution of a joint committee to suggest resolution to overcome the environmental damages that will be headed by the chief secretary of Jammu and Kashmir.

 

On 17 February 2023 the order passed by the bench of justice headed by Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel that set the committee to enlighten the issue and share the remedies for the prevention of the environment and carrying capacity, hydro-geology study, geo-morphological studies and also xover all the other issues.

 

As per the information, along with chief secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Govind Ballabh Pant from National institute of Himalaya and environment, national institute of hydrology, Roorkee, professor JS Rawat, Kumrao University, Almora, space application centre, Ahmedabad, wadia institute of Himalaya geology pf Dehradun, national institute of rock mechanics of Bangalore and the CPCB and ACS environment of Jammu and Kashmir will act as a nodal agency for coordinating.

 

The authority at Jammu and Kashmir also declared the mosque and the religious school for girls at Nai Basti Village in Thatri as unsafe as it develops cracks that is 35 kilometres away from Doda town.
