E-pass mandatory for visiting Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh Government issues travel advisory, makes e-pass mandatory after tourists rush to the state.


After the Himachal Pradesh Government relaxed restrictions, some of the visuals went viral over social media showcasing the long queue of cars entering the state, tourists were seen rushing to the state to enjoy the scenic beauty of Himachal Pradesh.

After which on Monday, The Government issued a travel advisory for tourists and made the Covid-19  e-pass mandatory after thousands of people flocked to the state.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that people visiting the state will have to register online and apply for an e-pass. He said pass applicants have to enter their particulars in the online system and details of the arrival were being shared with all the stakeholders concerned. He further added that "I appeal to the tourists to adhere to the guidelines, wear the face masks and maintain social distance. Hoteliers have been directed to strictly follow the SOP's issued by the Government. 

Himachal Pradesh recorded a Covid-19 positivity rate of 2.4 per cent from June 7 till 13.
