“Employees our top priority” says Twitter to India’s notice

Twitter Responses “Employees’ Our top Priority” On India’s Notice

Union IT minister was reached out by twitter for a formal talk where it said that the “safety of our employees’ is our top priority.” The report by a prominent news channel suggests that in less than 24 hours this is the second reaction by Twitter after the social media site was asked by the Indian government to remove 1178 Pakistani-Khalistani accounts that are spreading misinformation on the farmers’ protest and posting provocative content.

A non compliance notice was also issued by the Indian government acknowledging the social media site. The ongoing farmers’ protests have gained attention both nationally and internationally and many international personalities have expressed their solidarity with the farmers.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had sent a list of 257 handles and tweets to be blocked for similar reasons on January 31. At first these accounts were blocked by Twitter for a few hours and after some time unilaterally all the accounts were unblocked by the social media site.
