Europe Again Becomes Covid Epicentre

Countries are planning safety measures to reduce the Virus spread.


New Delhi: Next wave of Coronavirus is expected to be more severe, so several countries of Europe are planning over reimposing checks and even lockdowns to avoid severity of the pandemic again.


Reports by Reuters said that Ahead of the Christmas celebrations, which will start kicking in next month and rising debate over the significance of vaccines to lower down Covid-19 impact, countries including Netherlands, Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic are taking or planning measures to curb the spread .


According to Reuters data, Europe accounts for more than half of the average 7-day infections across the globe and about massive decrease in  latest deaths, the highest cases since April 2020, when the virus was at its peak in Italy.


A report by World Health Organization for the week to November. 7 showcased that Europe, including Russia, was the only region to record a rise in cases that to upto 7 per cent, while other areas reported massive declines.


It is reported that there is a 10 per cent increase in deaths, while other regions reported some decline in cases.


Where as, the Dutch government is planning a partial lockdown to curb the sudden increase in Covid-19 infections, German lawmakers are mulling legislation that would impose the way for precautionary measures.


Austria government also, Initially, announced that unvaccinated people in two regions will only be able to leave home for specified reasons starting next week. The government is planning to implement similar restrictions nationwide.


Austria has witnessed one of the most severe outbreaks in Western Europe, Germany, has reported high infections in the recent past time.


Other European countries such as The Czech Republic, Slovakia and Russia have also started imposing restrictions.
