Meanwhile, many more ministers and personalities greeted on the occasion of Onam including, President Ram Nath Kovind who said that the festival Onam promotes harmony, love, fraternity in the society. Vice president M Venkaiah Naidu also greeted and said, "my warm greetings on the auspicious occasion of Onam today. It marks the beginning of the harvesting season in various parts of the country. Onam is celebrated in Kerala. It is a 10-day affair, the three important days started this time with August 20 will end with Avittam on Sunday with Thiruvonam on Saturday being the most important day.
