FIFA World Cup 2022 qualified teams: Argentina, Brazil, England, Germany qualify for Qatar

13 out of 32 Teams have qualified for the World Cup, leaving only 19 spots

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is just a year away and teams are starting to earn qualifications. The first qualifier match was played between Mongolia and Brunei and the first goal was scored by Mongolian player Norjmoogiin Tsedenbal and is set to end in June 2022 with the inter-confederation play-offs.

Qualifying tournaments are held within FIFA's six continental zones and are organized by their respective confederations: AFC (Asia), CAF (Africa), CONCACAF (North and Central America and the Caribbean), CONMEBOL (South America), OFC (Oceania), and UEFA (Europe). For each World Cup, FIFA decides beforehand the number of places in the finals allocated to each of the zones, based on the numbers and relative strengths of the confederations' teams. The qualification reduces the large field of eligible entrants from 211 to just 32 for the finals as of the 2022 edition (to be expanded to 48 from 2026 onwards).

The 2022 Qatar edition will be the first tournament hosted in the Middle East and the first to be held at the end of the calendar year in November and December. A total of eight stadiums will host the event across five cities in Qatar: Lusall, Al Khor, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, and Doha.

Thirteen teams have officially qualified for the 2022 World Cup including the host nation. That leaves 19 spots to be filled in the upcoming months. Here are all the teams that have qualified for next year’s competition.
