Flights To Took-Off at New Goa International Airport

Akasa Air will start flights by next week...


On 5 January 2023, the new Goa airport started its first domestic flight for the commercial operations. The first   Indigo passenger flight 6E 6145 landed on Thursday at Manohar International Airport at 9 AM in Goa from Hyderabad located in north Goa district, Mopa.

Apart from Indigo, Akasa Air, Go First will also begin their commercial flights to Mopa international airport. Nearly 12 flights are scheduled by Indigo Airlines to the Mopa airport today and nearly 168 flights are served weekly by the Indigo airlines to the Manohar International airport. Mopa airport will prove to be a great help for national and international passengers.

Akasa Air will start flights by next week following Go First with 42 flights a week. This new airport will ease the difficulties at Goa Dabolim airport. The flights are from different cities of India including Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.

According to the official site of GGIAL (GMR Goa International Airport Limited), “Mopa is a full-service airport operating both domestic and international flights, along with freight services. Considering that Goa is a tourist hub that attracts tourists from all parts of the world.”

The airport is named after late Manohar Parrikar who served as former Defence minister and four-time chief minister of Goa.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Greenfield International Airport Mopa to Manohar International Airport in December 2022.
