Chandrasekhar suffered a minor stroke, his family said on Monday.

Former Indian cricketer B S Chandrasekhar, 75, suffered a minor stroke and was admitted to the Aster R V Hospital in Bengaluru, his family said on Monday. His condition is stable and will be discharged in a couple of days, they added. Mr Chandrasekhar's wife Sandhya Chandrasekhar Bhagwath said that he complained of "tiredness and fatigue" on Friday evening. His speech also turned a "little bit clustered" following which he was rushed to the hospital.

"Chandra is recovering very well, and he will be back home on Wednesday or Thursday," Sandhya said. She added, "There is some kind of blockage in the brain. It's a very, very minutest stroke." He has been shifted to the regular ward and is now undergoing physiotherapy.

The legendary leg-spinner captured 242 wickets in a total of 58 Test matches at an average speed of 29.74. Other than Chris Martin, he is the only cricketer in history who took more wickets than the total number of runs scored. In 1972, he was awarded Padma Shri, Arjuna Award and was also named Wisden Cricketer of the Year.
