Gangster Atiq Ahmed, Brought To UP To Appear In Court

On Tuesday, 28 March 2023, Ahead of the Court hearing in the Umesh Pal kidnapping case in the court of UP's Prayagraj, a number of security forces were deployed outside his house.

Tight Security has been deployed outside his advocate’s residence as well.

District Bar Association of UP’s Prayagraj said that the hearing will not be held in any other cases except the Umesh Pal abduction case on Tuesday in the MP-MLA court.

"Letter is written to the Minister of District Advocates Association by the Presiding Officer of MP MLA Court. A request also has been made to pronounce a verdict on today, March 28 only," the Bar Association told.

A gangster, Atiq Ahmed who turned politician and an accused in the case; was brought from Gujarat's Sabarmati Jail to Prayagraj's Naini jail on Monday after over 24 hours by road from Gujarat.

Today he will be presented before the court in connection with the Umesh Pal kidnapping case. Security has been increased at the court.

Security was heightened outside Naini jail and a heavy deployment of uniformed personnel was also there outside the jail area.

Atiq Ahmed on Sunday was taken out by a team of 45 members of UP police from Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Jail where he was lodged.

Stepping out of Sabarmati jail, Ahmed told reporters waiting outside that a conspiracy was being hatched to kill him on the pretext of following court orders.
