To encourage citizens to get their vaccine shots done, Chandrapur has announced a lucky draw.
Chandrapur, Maharashtra: Chandrapur Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra has announced a lucky draw for those who get their vaccination shots against COVID-19. The lucky person has a chance to win LED TV, Fridge or Washing Machine.
According to a press release by the Municipal Corp., the citizens who come to the civic-run vaccination centres to get their jabs from November 12 to 24 will get a chance to win these prizes.
The decision was taken under the supervision of the chairmanship of Mayor Rakhi Sanjay Kancharlawar in a meeting.
After the meeting, Civic Commissioner Rajesh Mohite and other officials announced to citizens to visit their nearest civic-run inoculation centre and get vaccinated.
Citizens who will take vaccine shots between November 12 and 24, will be eligible to participate in the lucky draw, which offers a refrigerator, washing machine and LED television set as first, second and third prizes, respectively.
Also, ten citizens have a chance to get a consolation prize - An electronic mixer grinder, he added.
According to a report, 1,93,581 citizens have got their first dose of vaccine in Chandrapur city, while 99,620 have received both doses.
Still, the number of vaccination entries is less than the number of eligible persons in the district, the press release said.
The Mayor said, almost 21 centres have been allocated for vaccination drives within the district.
The government has directed to achieve the target of cent per cent vaccination in the city. Therefore, for maximum indulging of citizens for vaccination, the Municipal Corp. has come up with a lucky draw.
