Goa allows foreigners to take Covid-19 vaccination

Foreigners can book their slot online through the CoWIN portal or can reach the nearest vaccination centre to get a jab.


The Goa state government on Wednesday (1 September) permitted foreigners staying in the state to take Covid-19 vaccination by showing their passport.

As per the PTI report, Goa vaccination Nodal officer Dr Anup Netravalkar said those foreigners who took the jab outside Goa, can get the second jab in coastal states. The officer also mentioned that the foreigners can book a slot online through the CoWIN portal or can reach the nearest vaccination centre to get a jab. The officer also said," this would be the first time that the vaccination would take a break" as on the occasion of the upcoming festival Ganesh Chaturthi the centres will remain closed on 10 and 11 September.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday Goa state reported 95 fresh Covid-19 cases which took the overall caseload to 1,74,050 with one fatality whereas the death toll touched 3,202 in the state.
