Goa govt refuses permission for Sunburn event

The 15th edition of the sunburn festival was slated for December 2021


On Wednesday, the Goa government refused permission to organize the Sunburn EDM festival in Goa. It said that it will not grant permission to organize the festival.

According to the statement, Goa chief Minister, Pramod Sawant said, "The state government has refused the permission to host the Sunburn festival in Goa. I have already signed the file refusing permission."


As per the statement given by Goa tourism minister Manohar Ajgaonkar said, it is the CM's prerogative whether to refuse or allow permission to organize the sunburn festival "we have to respect the decision" said the tourism minister.


What is a sunburn festival? 

 

Sunburn is a commercial electronic dance music festival held in India. It was started in 2007. It is Asia's largest music festival.The festival comprises dance, music, food, enjoyment and many other things.Majorly this festival used to take place in Goa during new year eve. 


Goa is among the best places for tourist attractions, the state is well known for its scenic beauty and arena. The open spaces and beach are beautiful attractions for tourists. With the end of the year many events and festivals take place in the Goa state but this time the state government has refused permission for the EDM  sunburn festival in the state.
