Government: Vaccine trial participants to get certificates through four platforms

The vaccination certificates will be provided through four major platforms- Cowin, Aarogya Setu, Digilocker, or UMANG application.


Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Monday, those people who have participated in the clinical trials of Covishield and Covaxin in the country will be provided vaccination certificates through four major platforms, that is, Cowin platform, Aarogya Setu, Digilocker, or UMANG application. 11,000 people have participated in the vaccine trial event.

Though the Minister said, 11,349 participants can download their certificates through the four platforms, many people on Sunday faced problems on trial sites, and the Cowin app was also unable to provide them certificates.

In the statement, the Minister said, phase II/III bridging studies of Covishield have been conducted from august 2020 by ICMR who is in partnership with Serum Institute of India (SII). Phase III trials for Covaxin were conducted by Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL) from November 2020. Moreover, the organization also receives several requests regarding the trial participants for digital vaccination certificates.

The Minister also decided they will provide vaccination certificates to those participants who managed, during the trial /studies were unblinded. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also approved this decision through his twitter handle.
