Gurugram becomes the 1st in Haryana with an 80% vaccinated population

Covid-19 vaccination is speeding up in several other states


On Thursday, Gurugram became the first state in Haryana to vaccinate over 80% of its eligible population with both doses of Covid-19 vaccination. 


Around 100% of the population have been inoculated with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccination.


According to the statement given by Chief Minister Manohar Lal khattar," the vaccination campaign in gurugram has been very successful with the district topping the administering of both the first and second doses of the vaccine. The percentage of Covid-19 vaccine administration in Gurugram districts is much greater than the national average, which is 79% for the first dose and 38% for the second dose. In Gurugram, the proportion of first dose vaccination is 123% while the percentage of the second dose is 80% right now." Adding more the CM said, "every person above the age of 18 should be given the first dose by December 31 and second by the end of January. "


Dr Virender Yadav, chief medical officer (CMO) Gurugram,  said," the chief minister praises the Gurugram district as the vaccination percentage here is higher than both the centre and state. We are probably one of the first districts in the country to have injected over 80% of our eligible population with both doses. The district task force will also meet on Friday where further strategies to increase the pace of vaccination will be discussed. "


The Covid-19 cases are declining in the state whereas the vaccination drive is speeding up in several states. Many states are accomplishing their target of achieving the inoculation milestone.
