Haryana to start a mid day meal program

Program to start from January 1


Midday meal program to begin from January 1 in Haryana.  On Wednesday, the Haryana education and tourism minister Kanwar Pal said,  serving mid-day meals will restart in school from next year, and the admission portals will begin from November 22. 

As per the information, all schools will resume from December 1and  students who wish to take admission or have missed their admission can appear during that time.  Adding more it said, super 100 programs being run by the state government, 28 children got admission in IITs, and 24 cracked NEET this year.  Around 7 students out of 24 got selected for NEET admission.

 

What is a mid-day meal? 

The midday meal is a school program for meals in India. This initiative provides free meals to school-going kids. To provide a nutritional diet to all the kids into the school premises. 

 

Schools and other institutions have been closed since last year. All education institutions have been shut down.  Covid-19 pandemic had led the education system to convert to online mode. Now the schools are about to reopen for physical classes. Many states such as Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh have reopened the school for offline mode after reviewing the Covid scenario in the respective state.
