Health Minister to Review Covid Scenario For 5 States

Virtual meeting to take place today!


Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya will review the Covid-19 scenario of 5 states. The Union Health Minister will hold a review meeting today at 3 pm.



As per the information, the meeting will take place with 5 states Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh. Earlier, the Health Minister also reviewed the Covid meeting with few other states on Friday.

 

The participant states and UTs that joined the meeting with Mandaviya were Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Pondicherry, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.

 

The information mentions, the health Minister mainly focused on setting up telecommunication centers that will be helpful even after the pandemic is over and concentrating on home isolation cases as caution can reduce the chances of cluster formations. Further, He also advised them that sufficient and timely testing will help in prompt identification of the infected cases and prevention of a sudden rise.



According to the release, the health Minister advised the states and UTs to ensure that those in home isolation are efficiently monitored in line with the national guidelines. This will ensure that the vulnerable categories of active cases in home isolation get the required medical help promptly.



The Covid cases are fluctuating, the daily lives have been hampered and impacted badly. The meeting comes ahead of a decline in the cases of Covid in a few states and the infection graph is plateauing on a national level. However, there are still areas that are reporting more than a 10 percent positivity rate which makes it necessary to not lower the guard against the virus.
