Heavy rainfall predicted in Jharkhand for the next 24 hours

Heavy rainfall has been predicted in Jharkhand for the next 24 hours. Whereas, Capital city Ranchi is witnessing rain since Friday.


Heavy rainfall has been witnessed all across the Country, whereas landslides have also been observed in few parts of Himachal Pradesh. Heavy Rainfall has been predicted in Jharkhand for the Next 24 hours. several districts in Jharkhand,  including the capital city Ranchi, which is witnessing rain since Friday. 

The weather department has predicted heavy to extremely heavy rainfalls in several parts of the state. It has also issued a red alert stating isolated to extremely heavy rainfall for almost two-thirds of the 24 districts in the state. Whereas few districts in the northern and central area comprising Koderma, Dhanbad, Jamtara and Lohardaga received more rainfall ranging from 22% to 52%  above the normal.

The IMD Director Abhishek Anand said" The current spell of rain in the state is due to the low-pressure system that has built up over the Bay of Bengal. Currently, its impact is being left largely across the northeastern and central districts of the state. It is likely to remain so over the next 24 hours. Gradually the system will move towards the northern and northwestern parts of the state before shifting over Bihar. Further also added that During the week (July 30 and August 5) rainfall was fairly widespread. Isolated heavy to extreme rainfall is likely to occur during the first half of the week.  Meanwhile, a large excess rainfall occurrence is predicted this week, said the Director.
