Heavy rains, IMD issues Red, Orange alert in districts of Maharashtra. Red alert has been issued for Ratnagiri District.


Maharashtra is in the limelight when it comes to rain and heavy rain  alerts issues. Whereas Maharashtra has issued an alert for heavy rain and Red and orange alert has been issued in few districts of Maharashtra. 

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in districts like Raigad, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg until Thursday (July 15).

Meanwhile, Weather Department has predicted heavy rainfall in the konkan region of Maharashtra and the Regional Meteorological Department has predicted a red alert in Ratnagiri District today. Whereas orange alert has been issued in palghar, Mumbai and Thane from today till July 15. Whereas as per IMD these three districts will receive extremely heavy rainfall.

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) tweet, it said, "in last 24 hours, Mumbai central received an average rainfall of 7.69mm, westerner suburbs received 5.23mm and eastern suburbs 2.10mm, respectively.
