Himachal Pradesh Government takes notice of overcrowding amid Covid-19, gathering in opening spaces are only permitted with 50 percent capacity.


With the fear of an approaching third wave of Covid,looming high a few days ago some horrific pictures went viral over social media where tourists had gathered in large numbers in Manali.

After these images went viral and people started questioning the decision, Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur said, the cabinet Minister allowed a maximum of 200 people at closed spaces and for open areas, gatherings with a 50 per cent crowd are permitted.

Jai Ram Thakur also urged tourists to comply with Covid-19 protocols. He also said to ANI, "we are also a bit anxious as the tourist influx increased in the state. We welcome tourists but I urge them to follow Covid-19 norms. They should follow social distancing and wear a mask. We have directed hotels to follow SOP strictly."

According to the statement given to ANI, Lav Agarwal warned and said restrictions would be implemented again if Covid-19 violation continues in the state, he also said " people travelling to hill stations are not following Covid-19 appropriate behaviour. We can nullify the ease in restrictions again if protocols not complied with."

Meanwhile, the Government has said that those children who lost both parents in the pandemic will now be covered under Mukhyamantri Bal Uddhar yojana, with monthly assistance of Rupees 1,500.
